SOFA WEST attendees can experience the historical and cultural landmarks
of the Santa Fe area by participating in three extraordinary excursions.

Georgia O'Keefe home tour

Enjoy a day exploring the world of Georgia O’Keeffe on Wednesday, June 10, with a private tour of O’Keeffe’s home and studio in the tiny village of Abiquiu and the spectacular rock formations of the area that figure prominently in her work.

Led by an art historian with an in-depth knowledge of O’Keeffe and northern New Mexico, participants will also visit Ghost Ranch country and stop at one of O'Keeffe's favorite spots, a natural amphitheater where she loved to picnic.

The tour cost of $130 per person includes transportation, guide, entry to the O’Keeffe Foundation’s Home & Studio Tour, and lunch at the Abiquiu Inn, tax and gratuity. Cost is based on a minimum of 12 and maximum of 20. Depart from the Santa Fe Convention Center at 8:45 am and return to Santa Fe by 3:00 pm.

A religious ceremony for the Pueblo, these dances are not on a schedule and may require a wait by participants.

A short drive to Chimayo follows with lunch at Rancho Manzano, a former mercantile store dating back to the 1700s, and a visit to Centinela Traditional Arts where traditional weavers Lisa and Irving Trujillo, a National Endowment for the Humanities 2007 Master, work to bring back traditional weaving techniques, spinning, and dying using native plants.

The tour caps off with a visit to the Santuario of Chimayo, a mission with fine examples of hand carved and painted altar screens. The tour cost of $175 per person includes transportation, guide, lunch at Rancho Manzana, tax and gratuity. Cost is based on a minimum of 20 and maximum of 29. Depart from Santa Fe Convention Center at 9 am and return to Santa Fe at 4:30 pm.
