Berlin Glas e.V.

Berlin Glas e.V. is a non-profit association that gives German and international, professional artists and students the opportunity to work with hot glass in Berlin.  Their goal is to inspire, educate and offer research opportunities for people interested in glass as a medium for artistic expression.

Berlin Glas, e.V.´s mission is to share the art and skill of making art with glass with the public and provide a resource to artists of all media. They believe that collaborating with international artists working across various media doesn’t simply broaden someone’s artistic capacity, but actually creates a culture of peace.

In the three years since Berlin Glas, e.V. opened its doors, it has grown into an internationally recognized institution, collaborating with universities in Ireland and Australia and working with renowned artists, such as Mona Hatoum, Jeppe Hein and Karin Sander. They have also established a youth program and most recently taught in the sculpture department at the Kunsthochschule Weißensee. Berln Glas e.V. provides a dynamic and friendly studio located in Reinickendorf, on the border of Wedding and Pankow, and within walking distance from the Bildhauerwerkstatt and Ufer Studios. The studio team is composed of graduate-level international artists who are excited to share their knowledge and skills. Classes are offered for beginners and intermediates in glass blowing, painting on glass, kiln forming and small-scale casting.
