Designer Vignettes

Designer Vignettes

SOFA CHICAGO is proud to announce its partnership with The River North Design District (RNDD) and will showcase a select group of designers at the fair. This is the first time that SOFA will have designer vignettes featured and this year’s theme is Living with Art. Nicholas Moriarity, Micheal Stornello and Tom Konopiots from Vincere along with The Golden Triangle will be decorating booths to showcase how art is used as an extension of their design aesthetic in their work.

New pieces by Chicago artist, Adam Siegel, who is nationally recognized for his breadth of his work as an abstract painter and photographer will be used throughout the designer vignettes. Known for his large-scale works, Siegel presents a soulful refinement to the contemporary oeuvre. Influenced deeply by his time in Japan, the artist merges two distinct sensibilities—East and West—with compositions that showcase an elusive and elegant balance of both.

Siegel’s pedigree is as layered as his canvases. The Chicago-born artist was raised in an artistic family. His father, Arthur Siegel, was a world-renowned photographer and author; his mother Irene Siegel is a multimedia artist.

There will be a cocktail reception in the Living with Art Lounge from 3pm to 4pm followed by a panel discussion from 4pm to 5pm all hosted by Modern Luxury. Adam Siegal will be giving a lecture on his work on Saturday, November 3 at 2pm at the fair. There will also be additional designers from RNDD conducting SOFA tours during the show hours. Tours will be available by appointment only.

Nicholas Moriarty, the owner of NMI, utilizes his diverse background to provide each client with a holistic interpretation of their respective style as well as a solution that accommodates their needs and desires. His company is a multi-disciplinary interiors firm focused on full-scale interior renovation and design projects.

As principals of Vincere, Ltd., Michael Stornello and Tom Konopiots are passionate about all aspects of the interior and architectural design process. Vincere was recently featured in the July/August 2017 issues of LUXE Interiors and Design Chicago Magazine. Both Stornello and Konopiots were selected to participate in the prestigious inaugural Kips Bay Palm Beach Show House 2017.
